Wessex Creative Media Limited, trading as Wessex Media Group, is a membership organisation for businesses and individuals working in the creative media sector. We offer support, information and advice in order to help members succeed at what they do best: “creating exciting, innovative and engaging media”.
We run events, training and networking sessions in order to provide opportunities for members to make valuable industry contacts where they would not normally be able to do so and are keen to hear from its members about the kind of support they need.
Events that took place in the last year either directly hosted or in partnership include:
- SHAPe Creative Industries Conference with Wayne Hemmingway as keynote speaker talking on creative entrepreneurship today.
- Alistair Stewart, OBE, In Conversation with Debbie Thrower talking about his career in TV.
- The Business of Film, with Tristan Lorraine from award winning Fact Not Fiction Films talking about creating and making films as an independent film maker.
- Meet the Professionals: The Changing Face of Media with Anthony Lilley, MD of Magic Lantern and Columnist for Media Guardian, Karl Warner, Commissioning Editor for Entertainment at BBC3 and Estelle Hughes, Director of Three Line Media and former head of Children’s ITV.
- Hollywood Screen Writing – Creating a Winning Script with James Bartlett, Script Reader from the Sundance Institute
- Winchester Film Festival and Southampton Film Festival
Membership Benefits and Fees
Membership runs for a calendar year and includes the following:
• Discounted entry fee for professional events, training events and networking
• Complimentary listing on the WMG website
• Receipt of e-bulletins containing funding information, business opportunities & jobs
• PR on the website and by email of your news, events, job vacancies.
Fees per annum:

* Freelancer £35
* Student £10 (on production of a NUS number)
* Education £45
